If you would like to store a boat or RV, here are our tips for selecting the correct unit size:

Length

  • If you are storing a boat, you must measure the overall length from the tip of the prop to the tip of the trailer tongue. Then add at least 2 feet to the total to ensure maneuverability.
  • For an RV, measure from bumper to bumper, including any overhan8g such as a tow hitch or spare tire mounted on the rear of the vehicle. Then add at least 2 feet to the total to ensure maneuverability.
Example: Your boat or RV is 24 feet long from tip to tip. That means that our 25' unit won't offer enough maneuverability and you'll need to size up to a 30' unit.

Width

Measure your vehicle at the widest point, including the trailer for boats. Our doors are 2' narrower than the unit measurements. For example, the door of a 12'x35' unit is 10' wide. You should leave some room for maneuverability here, too.

Height

Measure the overall height of the boat or RV, including bimini tops, vents, or air conditioners. Most doors in our facility are 10 feet high, but 12' x 35' doors are 10' w x 12' high. 14' x 40' and  14' x 45' have doors that are 12'w x 14' high.

Putting it all together:

Let's say you have an RV with the following measurements: 22' long x 8' wide x 11' high.
  • After adding 2' of length for maneuverability, you need a unit with a minimum of 24' in length.
  • Your RV's 8' width means you'll need a unit with a width of at least 10' to account for the actual door width.
  • The height of 11' means you'll need to size up to a unit with a taller door, since most of our doors are 10' high.

So because of the height, you'll need to rent a 12' x 35' unit, as these have a 12' high door.

This can all be a bit complicated, so if you need help, feel free to call us for advice at (928) 855-9797.

We have mini units from 4′×5′ up to 12′×25′; and boat/RV units up to 14′×45′.

Our unit doors are all 2' narrower than the unit width. For example, a 12' x 25' unit has a 10' wide door.

Most doors in our facility are 10 feet high. However, the doors on 12' x 35' units are 12' high. The doors on 14' x 40' and 14' x 45' are 14' high.
